Monsieur le Premier ministre Carney,<\/p>\n

Au nom des associations de la communaut\u00e9 chinoise de Montr\u00e9al et de l\u2019ensemble du Canada, nous avons l\u2019honneur de vous adresser nos salutations les plus chaleureuses et nos f\u00e9licitations sinc\u00e8res \u00e0 l\u2019occasion de votre prochaine rencontre officielle avec les dirigeants de la R\u00e9publique populaire de Chine. Cet \u00e9v\u00e9nement historique, qui co\u00efncide avec le 55\u1d49 anniversaire de l\u2019\u00e9tablissement des relations diplomatiques entre la Chine et le Canada, retient l\u2019attention du monde entier et suscite une profonde joie parmi les peuples de nos deux nations.<\/p>\n

Depuis cinquante-cinq ans, le pont d\u2019amiti\u00e9 reliant la Chine et le Canada a r\u00e9sist\u00e9 \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9preuve du temps et des changements. Du geste historique du premier ministre Pierre Elliott Trudeau \u00e9tablissant les relations diplomatiques jusqu\u2019au dialogue renouvel\u00e9 et \u00e0 la coop\u00e9ration approfondie d\u2019aujourd\u2019hui, nos deux pays ont accompli des progr\u00e8s remarquables dans les domaines de l\u2019\u00e9ducation, des sciences et technologies, du commerce, de la culture et de la protection de l\u2019environnement \u2014 offrant ainsi au monde un mod\u00e8le de compr\u00e9hension mutuelle, d\u2019\u00e9changes culturels et de coexistence pacifique.<\/p>\n

Pour les Canadiens d\u2019origine chinoise \u00e0 travers ce grand pays, cette rencontre \u00e0 venir repr\u00e9sente bien plus qu\u2019un \u00e9v\u00e9nement diplomatique : c\u2019est un moment de r\u00e9sonance \u00e9motionnelle profonde et de fiert\u00e9 partag\u00e9e. Tout en vivant, travaillant et contribuant \u00e0 la prosp\u00e9rit\u00e9 du Canada \u2014 le pays de l\u2019\u00e9rable \u2014 nous restons \u00e9troitement li\u00e9s \u00e0 notre terre d\u2019origine et \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9volution des relations sino-canadiennes.
